The Great Pyramid of Khufu is a defining symbol of Egypt. It is also known as the Pyramid of Cheops, which is the king’s Greek name. It is the last remaining of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.   It was constructed over twenty years during the reign of King Khufu (2589-2566 BCE). It reached a height of 481 feet.   The Great Pyramid was the tallest structure made by human hands until 1889. This changed when the Eiffel Tower was completed in Paris, France. It held this record for over 3,000 years. This record is unlikely to be broken.
