We are excited to finally see this trip come to fruition! It had been another COVID Cancellation Casualty, but now we are off to the “Rooftop of the World!” The trip has four parts:
- Pre-Trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan
- Base-Trip to the country of Nepal
- Post-Trip to Northern India
- A personal one-day trip to the Taj Mahal

The flight to our first stop, Delhi (7206 miles; 15 hr), was smooth and on time!

We were greeted by an OAT representative in Delhi with the Indian traditional sign of respect, Namaste, recognizing the divine light within us. Truthfully, after almost 24 hours of travel, our light was about extinguished!!
Then, we went to our hotel, where we were surprised at the security check of our bodies and luggage. Ten years ago, there was a bomb at a hotel in Mumbai; since then, hotel checks. All of this relates to problems between India & Pakistan.
After a short sleep night, we met the nine group members traveling together for the Bhutan portion of our tour. We already knew three from Minnesota (Marianne, Mark, and Alice) and were joined by Margot (Colorado), Dorothy (Arizona), and Pat/Joe from Pennsylvania. All very experienced travelers seem like they will be enjoyable traveling companions for our Himalayan adventure!
