Borneo

The next three countries we will be visiting are, in part, on the Island of Borneo. Borneo is the third-largest island in the world, and a land of breathtaking natural beauty, ancient cultures, and unparalleled biodiversity.

Shared by three countries—Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei—it is home to some of the oldest rainforests on Earth, teeming with rare and endangered species like the orangutan, pygmy elephant, and proboscis monkey.

Approximately 73% of Borneo is Indonesian territory, comprising five provinces: East, West, South, North, and Central Kalimantan. Malaysia controls about 26% of Borneo through its states of Sabah and Sarawak, located in the northern region. The remaining 1% is the sovereign nation of Brunei, located on the north coast

We visited only the tiny 1% portion, the sovereign nation of Brunei! And, unfortunately, we did not see any endangered species!!
