June 2017. On a Road Trip, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania

 Valley Forge National Historical Park is probably the most dated National park we have visited. It remains a proper memorial. This is the spot where George Washington’s weary troops passed the brutal winter of 1777-78.

We watched the 18-minute orientation film, Valley Forge: A Winter Encampment. Then we drove the 10-mile loop road through the park. It offered 9 significant monuments and sites.   Over 20 miles of spectacular hiking/biking trails throughout the park were very inviting…but we neither had the time nor the energy!!
