Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is where Lake Powell rises behind the dam. We did not hike. However, we enjoyed the stunning beauty of the water, sand dunes, cliffs, solitary buttes, and side canyons. Lake Powell, a 185-mile-long river, is reaching a historic low as the West’s water crisis deepens….a 145 vertical foot drop since 1999!
