In the Saguaro National Park, the saguaro cactus is the single reason this park exists. It was a marvel to see miles and miles of these amazing plants. Some are as tall as 40 feet, reaching a weight of 10 tons! They are very slow growers….7 feet in 75 years! Those with arms are at least 75 yrs old and they may live to 150 years. We started a nice hike. Unfortunately, we had to cut it short. We did not start early enough in the day. It just got way too hot!
