The website says “A wonderful experience full of scents, colors and flavors set in a corner of feudal Sicily”, and that is exactly what our ‘one-night stay’ was!

This is another example of an old Masseria.… a typical rural building, a symbol and monument of peasant civilization dating back to 1856. It has been here for almost 300 years, surrounded by the forest and the Ganzaria mountains in the heart of Sicily.

It was built as a large farmhouse by the Baron Guccione Andrea, of Palermo, with local stones and materials and offered accommodation to the peasants employed for the processing and cultivation of the land. Meticulous restoration started in 2000 and today it is a 4-star rural historical monument.

Our time here was not long, but extremely enjoyable!
