Nestled along the sea coast and just a short distance from the Amalfi Coast, Salerno’s palm tree lined boulevards, craggy mountain backdrops and sun-drenched piazzas are really easy on the eyes! But our eyes did not rest on it too long. We had just enough time for a walk along the beautiful coastline before getting ready for our last farewell dinner!

This area is known for beautiful views, its lemons, and its limoncello! The town is perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, and has stunning views of the Bay of Naples, the islands of Capri and Ischia, and Mount Vesuvius (on a clearer day than we had!)

Lungomare di Salerno: Lungomare di Salerno is a beautiful waterfront promenade that stretches for about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles). The promenade is a popular spot for walking, jogging, and biking.

The town is a maze of narrow streets and alleyways, which we saw on our walk to our farewell dinner.

And speaking of the Farewell Dinner…I have no pictures! I guess it was somewhat anti-climatic! We said goodbyes after the base trip, and the post-trip has been very good but more subdued. Our guide Dario is definitely tired and ready to go home. I am not tired, but really ready to see Pete! Despite this low-key ending…..I will always remember this trip as one of my very favorites. I had a fantastic time with Judy and the other eight girls. There is nothing I would change (except to have Pete enjoy it with me), and I appreciate the universe for allowing this to happen.
