Sicilian Adventure: Puglia, Sicily and Calabria, 2023

This trip was inspired by the fact that Pete was going rafting on the Colorado River with a group of guys.  So…I found a group of girls interested in traveling to Sicily and Southern Italy!  Five of us are from The Villages, one from Wisconsin, and three from Massachusetts.  Some are still working, but most are retired.  Some are single, some are widowed, and some are married!  Some have children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren…some have none!  We probably have an age span of close to 25 years!  But what we have in common is that we all love to travel and are looking forward to getting to know Sicily! 

 We traveled with a group called Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT). The trip is divided into three parts:

  • A Pre-Trip to the Italian Region of Puglia (the heel of the boot of Italy!)
  • The Base Trip to the island Sicily
  • The Post-Trip to the Italian Region of Calabria (the toe and shin of the boot!)

All the girls are part of the Base Trip to Sicily, while only some went on either/both the pre and the post-trips.

We started getting to know each other through Zoom meetings and a few gatherings in The Villages.  Some are new to OAT, but all have traveled internationally.  And we all know…..girls just want to have fun!!  So that was our plan, and that is what we did!!!!
