Our first introduction to the Balkan Countries was in September of 2021. Overseas Adventure Travel’s trip, Crossroads of the Adriatic, was both enriching and eye-opening. Each country offered its own unique blend of history, natural beauty, and cultural flavor, yet together they form a tapestry that reflects centuries of shared heritage, shifting borders, and resilient people.
Despite past conflicts, the region feels forward-looking, with proud traditions, hearty food, and a strong sense of identity in every stop. The Adriatic is more than just a sea—it’s a corridor of culture, struggle, and stunning beauty and diversity. We feel fortunate to have explored it firsthand.
